Cockburn Cement Football Club – 1993 to 2003
The Cockburn Cement Football Club originally began in the 1980s as a social team of employees and played teams from other companies every fortnight.
Eventually, this social league became the Mercantile Football Association in 1993 where the Cockburn Cement Football Club would compete until 2003.
The club proved to be a powerhouse in the Mercantile League playing in Grand Finals regularly and winning premierships in 1993, 1995, 1997, and 1999. The club would also finish runners up on 4 occasions in 1994, 1996, 1998, and 2000.
In 2003 the club moved to its new home ground at Davilak Oval which began the beginning of the new era for the club as the Cockburn Cobras Football Club.
Cockburn Cobras Football Club – 2003 - Present
As the Cockburn Cobras Football Club, the club has continued to grow on and off the field with League Premierships in 2005, 2006, and 2008 including a runner’s up pennant in 2009.
In 2010 the club would add a reserves side with initial success following as the club would finish runners up in 2010 and 2011 in its first 2 years.
With the clubs ever growing player and support base it was decided that the club needed to rise to a new level and joined the Western Australian Amateur Football League (WAAFL).
In Season 2017 an inaugural Colts team was introduced into the competition, allowing youths aged between 16-20 age bracket within the City of Cockburn to play competitive football at a local club, progressing through to Reserves and League ranks.
The reserves would go on to claim the 2018 C4 reserves premiership and place runners up in 2019.
In 2019 the league side won the C4 Premiership and gained the club’s first promotion in the Perth Football League to the C3 Grade.
The club introduced its inaugural Third senior side in 2019 which competed in the E3 Grade for 3 seasons until the end of 2021.
Season 2022 saw the introduction of the club’s inaugural women's team which was an exciting new chapter for the club, it had immediate success with the women's team winning the C4 premiership in their first season and gaining promotion to C3.
Season 2023 the club looked to take its football program to the next level which resulted in a successful year for the club both on and off the field.
The league side was promoted to C2 for the 2024 season after making the Grand final in 2023. Our Women’s team once again played finals footy in 2023 which capped off a great year for the club.
